Drum Lessons in Katy TX
Are you one of those people who hear the rhythm in any music! The pulse of the bass drum, the pop of the snare, the zing of the cymbals! The drums are the heartbeat of the band, and rhythm is an integral part of music that cannot be removed. If you want to learn how to play the drums, then we can certainly help!
More About our Drum Lessons
Learning to play the drums gives you a lifelong hobby and an outlet for emotion and creative expression. Our drum instructors teach rock, metal, jazz, funk, blues and many other styles, providing an excellent platform for your lifelong enjoyment. Although drum language can be complex, our instructors will challenge any drummer with a wide variety of materials designed to improve your speed, strength, endurance, control and comfort. All drummers may bring in their favorite drum parts to learn in their lessons and theory is encouraged. Students only need to bring their drum sticks, music and homework journal. We also offer Percussion Lessons, which is a wonderful addition to any school band program, rock band, or worship band.
Do You Need a Full Drum Set?
Do you need to buy an entire drum set to start? Absolutely not! Though it is nice if the student has a drum set, most beginners will start their musical journey on a drum pad, to help develop proper stick holding technique, strength, and basic rudiments. A metronome will also become a true drummer’s best friend! So, as you can see, it will be relatively inexpensive to start learning how to play the drums (via the drum pad) before moving on to the actual drum set.

Sean received his associates degree from Blinn College and also studied percussion performance at Sam Houston State University. Sean states that he is “a low-maintenance, high-performance musician and teacher who takes practice and performance seriously. Most of all I enjoy watching other people improve at music and witnessing the joy that music brings to the heart and mind and the world in general.” Currently managing his own band “The Blue Grooves,” Sean would love to help you or your child become better at the drum set!
